I think that everything said made a great deal of sense. However, what about this? what if you added a little content? I am not saying your content isn't good., but what if you added a post title to possibly grab folk's attention? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is kinda boring. You should look at Yahoo's front page and note how they create article headlines to get viewers to open the links. You might try adding a video or a picture or two to grab readers excited about what you've got to say. Just my opinion, it could make your blog a little bit more interesting.
